Tribe was born from the problem of disconnected local communities. We identified that people struggle to connect with others in their city or locality, leading to isolation and missed opportunities for local engagement. Tribe solves this by enabling location-based communities where people can join city specific channels and build meaningful local connections.

With Tribe, we're expanding beyond general city channels to serve niche communities from local tech meetups to neighborhood volunteer groups, city specific subchannels for hobbies, events, and shared interests. This allows us to understand how different user segments use Tribe and refine features like local events, polls, and crowdfunding for specific use cases.

Tribe is an onchain application built for the future of decentralized social. Once the app is live and has a decent userbase, we may adopt established protocols like Lens or Farcaster, or build our own protocol to scale beyond traditional social platforms. This protocol foundation will ensure users own their social connections and data, enabling true portability across applications while maintaining user ownership and interoperability with other Web3 social applications.

Tribe rapidly integrates essential features that local communities need: messaging for realtime communication, casts and stories for sharing updates, event RSVPs, community polls, local crowdfunding, and volunteer task boards. Through user friendly design that hides Web3 complexity, strategic city-by-city expansion, and features that appeal to everyday users not just crypto enthusiasts Tribe aims to become the go to platform for local community connection, making decentralized social accessible to everyone.
